THE DESIGNER
Lia Cohen is a Guatemalan – born designer and entrepreneur who has been producing RTW in her Guatemala studio and atelier for more than 3 years. She was trained in Europe with experience working for the fashion industry in cities like New York, Milan, and Paris.
After living abroad for more than 10 years, helping put together fashion productions for the likes of Custo Barcelona, Antonio Marras, John Varvatos, and Sohie Theallet to name a few, Lia returned to Guatemala with a mission to build a prosperous design community marrying traditional techniques with modern high fashion sensibility in order to leave a legacy and transcend her art through time.
LIA COHEN is a woman owned independen designer collection of impeccably crafted, timeless heirlooms for the passionate woman.

1. Provide opportunities in Guatemala through job creation specially for young aspiring women, and women who are breadwinners and primary leaders of their home.

The LIA COHEN scholarship program
Our pilot work/study full scholarship program was launched with the first recipient enrolled in the Fashion Design School at Universidad del Istmo in January 2018. We intend to include additional students with the hopes of growing our local designer community.
